Last day

Tuesday, October 7th, 2003

I just bought a computer.
It was an impulse buy – just couldn’t stop meself.

I should calm those of you worrying at this point – it only cost a little bit. It’s a teeny little box which I’m going to use as a domain controller. The whole thing (minus a HD I need to get) cost me a grand total of £150. It’s got a little C3 processor, a CD drive, and it’s very sweet.

I’ll put pictures up when I get it home past customs, but the first thing I need to do is assemble it tonight so I can throw away the packaging and secrete it in my inventory for the flight over.

Eenyway. Last day and all that. We fly from Osaka airport bright and early tomorrow morning, and arrive at Heathrow at 1830 BST. Then I’ve got to train home. I will, most likely, be dead by the end of this journey, but what the hell ^-^

Finally emptied my memory cards

This is the best Internet cafe in the history of all Internet cafes. Seriously.

I’m on an ‘open’ terminal, but there are private cubicles with DVD players and stuff. They’re called ‘relax’ cubicles or something. Potentially dodgy, but hey.

Nevertheless, you get free drinks, can buy food (there’s a microwave, and a kettle for noodles). There’s pool, a library, and all sorts of other funky shit here too. There’s even a vending machine for hot food. Burgers, chips, whatever – they’ve got it.

We seriously need this sort of thing in the UK.

Oh, Windows XP too, so I’ve emptied my memory cards (thank goodness).
